6 of them.
1 = PS1 and PSP
2 to 6 = PS2.
I highly recommend picking up the first game or the 4th game if you can read japanese.

unfortunately I can't but if like super robot wars that doesn't matter so I'll give it a try,anyways thanks a lot.

The first game is still pretty playable with the FAQ on gamefaqs. It got a lot of the translations and choices. Though if you got the PSP version, it got quite a bit of new features and none of the guides cover that.

This is 5 in Japan. They releasing it here and calling it Growlanser 4 Heritage of war.
