  • By this point in her career, it took Moffo a while to get her voice going in stage performances, BUT in the recording studio, where she could take the time to get things just right, she was capable of some OUTSTANDING singing - as in this wonderful recording!!! And she was a GREAT Juliette on the stage, too, at the Met and elsewhere!!!! Thank you VERY, VERY much for sharing this with us!!!!! (By the way: who is the conductor on this recording?)

  • I'm Spanish & American. I live in Los Angeles. I don't like today's French opera singers (Natalie Dessay, etc). Anna Moffo was Italian-American and sang in the 1960's. Her Lucia and her Violetta are excellent. As for classic French singers I like Madie Mesple. I've also heard Italian sopranos sing great French - like Mirella Freni, her Juliette & Marguerite is marvelous.

  • @MastersoftheOpera

I wouln'd say her French is perfect though I adore her voice. I advise you to listen to a French singer.

By the way I'm French are you ?

  • Gorgeous singing by Anna Moffo. Perfect French diction, a rich, dark timbre and an expressive technique. I love her in everything she sings.

  • that's awful

  • una voz hermosa. Además se parece a mi madre de joven aunque ella era mezzo.
