I always drive on snow tires in winter. Those worn out summer/all season tires were on the car just to show the efficiency of the Outback's All-Wheel Drive in snow and ice.
With snow tires on this Subaru, snowy hills like this are way to easy to master.

@ShinMegamiTENsei537 I should probably correct you on something, but the older-gen Subarus had an manually-engaged Symmetrical AWD system, something the AMC/Jeep trash lacked. This setup was borrowed from VW's Rear-Engined, RWD setup with symmetrical axles.

@ATARI800XLfan Again, more fallacies. Subaru's AWD system is real-time, eliminating the need to manually engage AWD. Yet on AWD models, such as the USDM SVX, they are found to have a full-time 90/10 AWD setup regardless of the terrain.

@EG33SVXLSi you can do it only to "active awd" cars equipped with TZ1 automatic transmission because there's no middle differential and the multidisc clutch is installed instead
removing fuse you switch off the oil pressure on the clutch and cut off the torque from the rear
Outback H6 equipped with TV transmission which has the middle diferential, so you cannot switch off rear wheels
I drive the same car, and I used to drive an a-awd forester before

@ShinMegamiTENsei537 that was part time four wheel drive. As in all four wheels get the same amount of power at the same time. The Eagle was AWD full time so it could be put in AWD and stay there all the time on wet or dry pavement if the drive wanted to without damaging anything unlike the Subaru which could only be activated on wet surfaces.the eagle was designed from the Jeep four wheel drive. Most true innovations do not get noticed the first time. Only later when they are made by big business

@ATARI800XLfan I'm guessing you didn't realize AMC COPIED Subaru's AWD first considering Subaru's GL came out FIRST?

@SubaruXT6 but the best one by far is teh EG33...

Subaru makes Bad Ass 6 Cylinders since day 1.
i have the first ever 6 cylinder subaru built, its in my 89 XT6 a 2.7L H6 built like the EA82 with 2 extra cylinders.

Get snow tyres fitted in order to drive on snow. The clue's in the name; "SNOW",

@FordCopChrist1995 awd is full time in any car. 4wd is 2wd until you press a button to engage it
Dont Subarus have full time AWD thats always on?

@subarokec you can insert a fuse and make it FWD for testing.

@EG33SVXLSi It's not possible with this model with planetary gear type middle differential and VDC and VTD systems :)
