This was a repair. I already knew what happend before I tore into it! The owner claims no water pumping out, and that was just it. If you don't use Bissel Carpet Cleaner in a Bissell machine, it causes damage to the pump and other workings. Thankfully, I was able to free the pump up and get it working again, but there was another problem. It still wouldn't spray at the hose. A thick solid mass had clumped up in the supply hose internal of the suction hose. It was $39.99 for the hose assembly, but I managed to get a 20ft piece of hose for $2.88, and I was actually able to replace it. Not any easy operation, about an hour. I made sure I got the old hose out first before attempting to find a replacement. Now, it's good as new. I dry clean my carpet, so I used my kitchen floor for test and vid purposes! I don't like to get it all wet. Sorry for the poor vid quality.

  • Dear sir. I want to buy this mashine but PLEASE PLEASE answer me, do i need to vacuum with the regular vacuum cleaner BEFORE i use this one? Or it does everything??? Thank you very much!!!

  • @annamasuna YES you definitely want to vacuum VERY well before using one of these. You could end up with a muddy mess and returning spots if dont vacuum, especially in a dirty/sandy carpet.

  • Hey, I appreciate the troubleshooting notes even without video of the repair. Mine will not shoot water. I guess you could say it just sucks right now. :-(

  • @txkevin1313 There was 2 problems with this...a frozen pump, and a clog in the hand-tool hose, which had to be replaced. I was able to un-freeze the pump by using a pair of plyers and twisting back and forth a few times. This is the number 1 cause of no water, and is usually caused when you DONT use genuine Bissell formula. You MUST use Bissell formula in a Bissell at ALL times.

  • HOW TO FIX NO WATER BEING SHOT OUT!

The problem if no water is shooting out is that the heater is f ed up. You have to take the thing apart remove the heater clean it out and then but it back togeater. takes 10 mins. The heater on this model is the only bigger metal thining inside. The reason for the heater jacking the system up is because the soap clogs the little valves when it gets warmed. Oh yea the heater is located under the water tank. Heater is BS, repair centers charge $90 for this!

  • @1978MOB It was actually a locked up electric water pump and then a clog in the hose going to the upholstery tool. I did see the heater when I had it all apart. The unit is supposedly working fine still, as I'm not the owner.

  • YOU ARE GAY!

  • Okay; my hand tool shoots out water and sucks it up. My floor does not shoot out water but vacuums. So this should not be a pump issue since it is pumping to the hose hand held attachments. Vacuum works either place; the nozzels are not clogged. So since no issue with vacuum either way but only get water from the onboard tools, what about the jets underneath the main machine? I have cleaned them thoroughly.

  • I have a problem with my Bissell Proheat cleaner, the rest of the machine works fine, bit not the upholstery part. It only sprays out of one corner and obviously doesnt clean well because of this, this started one month after buying it!!! help what is wrong with it, might return it for a replacement

  • I have one of these...have had it 3 months now it won't spray water. Took whole thing apart, nothing clogged..it's a pos and will never buy another one!

  • Well did everything all checked out what I found was a bad switch in the handle.

When I checked it with the handle up it checked good (on off) but when it was down it didn't work. $5.00 at local electronics store on line $2.00 + ship

  • But be surprised when you have to lean the machine from all the pet hair and dust, it’s an absolute nightmare, particularly the brushes underneath the machine and on each side. The little brush on the back the machine blocks up very easy with all the pet hair like it happened to me.
