Norman will be joined by many Canadian jazz greats to celebrate his 70th birthday on June 1, 2008 with live jazz, dinner and much more at Chalkers Pub in Toronto (Canada).
Tickets are available on his website at:

In the style of his mentor Art Blakey, Norman has been a father figure to many jazz musicians.
Here you see veteran Canadian jazz drummer soloing on a tune he wrote called "La Quigea" using light sticks, maracas and mallets.
"nonono, I solo!"
