@emace3 It's a mindset. Sure the whole "that color is so last season" stuff is pointless but there are certain trends that you should not wear anymore because it makes you look like you have not bought new clothes in 50 years. For most people a super high rise pants look terrible. Not because it does not fit them right but because it has not been style in 20 years. It can make a person look older if they wear old styled clothes.

@emace3 Thatsa very ignorant comment. Sayng fashion does not exist is like saying art does not exist, or philosophy does not exist. Just because It is based on what people like and what people think rather then plain utility doesn't make it worthless. Far from it. Some of the most important things can not be used to eat or drink, but to beautify and to pick up the spirit. People have a need for beauty and self expression in good times and bad. Fashion is one of the things to provide it.
