Phoebe in Wonderland — Phoebe Cries

An excerpt from Phoebe in Wonderland; a movie about a young girl with various behavioral disorders, starring Elle Fanning. In this scene, Phoebe cries out to her mother in the middle of the night to be comforted to have her mom discover she had calloused her knees as a result of her obsessive OCD rituals. Her mother asks her why she has to do these things, but Elle doesn't understand it herself; she is inexplicably compelled to do these things she knows are dysfunctional.

The scene was very heart-wrenching for me, and some of the more convincing crying sequences I have ever seen in a movie — it really got to me.

I seriously want to bawl when I hear her cry. She is AMAZING in this. Im 19 and I would never be able to act that well. She is better than some adults.

@Mcpanicfanic She's very talented and takes an intuitive approach to her acting. Neither she or her elder sister, Dakota Fanning, took any sort of acting classes; they're just naturally that talented.

It's sad that she has to live in her sisters shadow all her life. She is an amazing actor but she different from dakota! They're two very different people.

She's just incredible. I don't think she's living in Dakota's shadow anymore, I think she's finally risen as a star in her own right, with a different style to Dakota but no doubt equally talented.

@weinmj I don't think that Elle lives under Dakota's shadow, both are very talented and very different, I think the only thing they have in common is that both are really beautiful and wonderful actresses

I know how she feels, saying that she knows why she does it and has no clue why! I know why because of her disorder, she says things that she doesn't mean them but it can hurt and I was like her when I was her age.

she is brilliant, i even remember when she was doing another take on the film 'door in the floor', she was meant to act as though she was in a screaming fit, the elder actor after a while thought there was actually something wrong after thinking that she wasn't pretending any more; felt too real. After calling for everyone else, she ran out of the room laughing and started playing with the off set stuff lol =D
