Avalanche at Alta on Stonecrusher (preseason 11.13.2011)

The avalanche starts in the upper left and by the time it gets to the skier (between the bush and tree), it envelops him. The avalanche picked up speed at the bottom and emptied into a gully with more skiers very close to the path.

This skier was alone and skiing a run that had cracking and whoomping in it. We communicated this when we saw him down low. Not a good day to ski this run. We could see the skier was fine which is why we didn't attempt rescue.
