Addiction is Murder is a no-budget slasher movie, an allegory on addiction and personal responsibility. Shot on a mini-DV camcorder purchased off Ebay for $150 dollars, AIM was inpired by a friend's ultimate inability to give up his own ugly addiction after endless half-hearted attempts. AIM is a truly independent film. It looks like one of those depressing European movies you might see on Showcase late at night. Everything from the props to the music is entirely home-made, while the majority of the cast are non-actors. The money spent on DV tapes and corn syrup (for fake blood) accounts for the entire budget of about $75. The jaded horror fan will enjoy AIM's black humour, while the less horror-centric viewer might find it as disturbing as it is compelling. AIM premiered at The Winnipeg Short Film Massacre 2006.
I stand by that transition. If you don't get it - you're a fuckin' idiot, kill yourself.
