Dan Savage's Reaction To President Obama's "It Gets Better" Video

Columnist, Dan Savage and creator of the "It Gets Better" project spoke to CNN. "Here you have the President of the United States saying that you didn't choose it -- to be gay -- and you will get through this...that said, the President of the United States has the power to do more than assure LGBT kids that it will get better; the President of the United States has the power to make it better for LGBT adults and children."

@soundscape718 Politics is a giant, gelatinous, slow moving blob of conflicting ideals and personal agendas. Mister Obama IS doing everything he can, but the political climate is against his administration in a big way. He's working, hard, trying to do as much good as he can, as he thinks he can, but it'll be a long time before you see the actual results.

It's like any reparation: You can do the damage quickly, but fixing it takes a great deal more time and effort.

@chairmanalexander You guys think fox media is bad for fear mongering look into the "alternative media" they have no limits and are gonna end up causing another Gabby Gifford's. They have people convinced he's gonna throw every one in death camps, that alone isn't scary but the fact that million and millions of people are listing to them like messiahs is. @chairmanalexander EXACTLY. And people complain that "OH HE'S NOT DOING ANYTHING HE NEEDS TO GFTO OF OFFICE" but it's because of the Republicans. They keep his hands tied so he can't do anything because of their conservative and greedy beliefs. (no offense Rs but you give off this HUGE greedy vibe)

@SilvuRBLX I agree with you there. I have a friend who is a Republican who believes in LGBT rights... But try to take into considerations the people that are running for President and are under the Republican party... no offense but they're all kind of ridiculous. I believe not everything is black and white however. Not every Christian thinks LGBT people are going to hell. Same with republicans.

@SilvuRBLX @SilvuRBLX I'm telling people not to vote republican, i didnt say that all republicans are this way. Do some research on the current Republican canidates on the field for president right now. Most would repeal DADT if they got into office.

John McCain even said that he would repeal DADT if we did research on it and if our top ranking generals thought it was a good idea. They said repeal would be fine. Then McCain flip flopped and voted to keep DADT when it came up to repeal it.

Honestly, it's the Christians that hate the LGBT community. We should rant about them.

If any of you care about the LGBT community you shouldnt vote republican. They have done everything they can to prevent the repeal of DADT, and most of the republican canidates running NOW, would REINSTATE DADT if they made it into office.

Keep that in mind, among other things, when you go to vote.
