Tabs!
Hey, if you wanted the full transcription of this, head over to www.nonpology.com. There's download links in the Media section, under tabs. Its my bands site, so if you feel inclined, have a listen to some of our stuff - maybe you'll like it. Or not, and just grab the tabs and run away - that's totally fine too.
This my version of Girl in the Fire by Pendulum, arranged as a solo piece on bass guitar. I think this is a great track as a whole, but it is also incredibly well written, performed and produced from a musician point of view too. It has a lot of different parts to it, with loads going on -- hence I took on the task of writing my own arrangement of it. When transcribing this I had in my head that I wanted my playing to sound as recognisable as possible to the song, so for the majority of the song I'm playing the lead melody, which is normally a synth part. The actual bass part to this song plays nothing like what I play here, and tends to lock in with the drums a lot more, back-up the melodies when the dynamics are soft, and provide the power and pulse in the heavier bits. I really enjoy the acoustic guitar part right at the start and the guitar solo in addition to the several synth lines.
All the effects I use come from a Line6 Bass POD XT Live. I change through them as I'm playing and didn't use any post-recording effects or anything like that.
Hope you enjoy this one. All comments are great and please check out my other videos too.
