Hard to say, monster hunter can be really frustrating sometimes. Friend of mine got over 300 hours of gametime and still could not beat the final monster.

this guy looks like God.
thing about monster hunter is everything's at an epic scale -- you start off fighting small wyverns resembling raptors etc. then pick off big ass t-rex like reptiles, duel the elder dragons and finally have a final showdown with the rumored deities which are so feared with an epic soundtrack drumming through your stereos echoing throughout the whole neighborhood.
And if he's being a bitch, bring your friends! problem?

I'd say Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. God Eater is fun, but it leaned towards the side of Final Fantasy in terms of monster design and weapon concepts. Monster Hunter is something where there's a real achievement involved when you beat a monster. Not because of how fast you beat it, but how you beat it. I won't say much 'coz it's up to you really, but I'd take fighting a Jinouga over a Vajra anyday.
