Seen here approaching the Whitlock Ave station on the 6 line is a 10 car train wrapped in ads for Swatch watches. This is not the first time this type of big time advertising has been done. In 2010 another train on the Pelham line was wrapped to advertise the new Target stores which opened that summer. Trains have also appeared on the Grand Central Shuttle wrapped in ads. The Swatch ads emulate the old school graffiti designs of the '70s and '80s, when trains were regularly seen with "top to bottoms" and "masterpieces" rolling through the lines of the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. The train was a target of vandals recently since someone apparently sprayed paint on the ads as the train was moving.
