Karl Pilkington is best known for the world-record-breaking podcasts that he does with friends Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant - where he is frequently told that he is an idiot.

Karl left school 19 years ago with only one GCSE - an E in history - an exam that he doesn't remember taking. After years of ridicule, he has decided to find out just how intelligent he is and if having more knowledge would make him any happier.

'Me mates keep telling me that I should be more intelligent and that I should know more, but... I say, if I did know more, would it make me any happier?'

Karl gets advice from known intellectuals, including Germaine Greer, Will Self and even David Icke, while explaining his concerns on gaining more knowledge.

If you know anything about Will Self - and it seems most of you don't, he is taking the piss. I suggest you read something of his to understand his humour, before you post idiotic statements about someone you know nothing about.

@boskoantonijevic Your right. IQ test are a joke. They were originally designed to determined if someone was mentally handicapped, not to see how intelligent someone is. There are many forms of intelligence, it's all about perspective. There are no test that can determined if someone is intelligent or not.

Karl may not be the most articulate or well-spoken person in the room, but he's far from an idiot. I don't understand why he gets so much flak for it unless it really is he and Ricky playing up a bit of a character they've created.

The fact is, no true idiot could ever be as funny as Karl. Humor is wit, wit is intelligence, and karl has no shortage of wit, albeit his own unique and hilarious brand of it.

IQ 83? i change my mind about inteligence tests. karl is briliant because his thinking in totaly differant way than the rest of people,his toughts are so original. btw andy warhol's iq was 80
