The man whose controversial books laid out the principles of holy war, claims his ideas were misinterpreted.

He's now telling muslims that killing innocent civilians is against the laws of Islam.

  • All I have to say is Hate the Sin not the Sinner

  • The video needs to make it clearer that no where in islam is it ok to kill civilians or innocents, but the issue is harsh foreign policy and ill treatment of the Muslim countries since its colonization in 1924 has created this radical extremism. The Best way USA can help is by stop interfering with middle east politics

  • Islam is a religion that will not tolerate anybody that believes differently, and is instructed by their Book to kill those that do. That being the case, America and our citizens will likely have to exterminate those that are of this ilk. It is very sad, but many Muslims will likely have to perish before peace comes to that part of the world.

  • One of the obligations imposed on the faithful by the Koran was jihad, or struggle. This has been translated as "holy war," and there are passages in the Koran to support such a reading, notably the recommendation that Muslims kill enemies of the faith: "Fight against them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme." But just a few paragraphs later the Koran makes the opposite decree: "There shall be no compulsion in religion."

  • Finally some sense in Jihad!

  • Religion as a way of life. It needs to be embraced, not forced upon. The reason why many muslims r corrupted is because they no longer hold to the true teachings. Misguided Jihad would simply be some group of frustrated people taking extreme actions when there can be better ways to tackle situations. One should stop bombing other nations, but start building ones own. Fossil fuels r gonna run out soon anyway! lets go green and think of renewable energy instead of spilling blood like barbarians.

  • Excellent. Hopefully we see more opinions from other scholars. I also hope that it would be publicized in the media here, but I am not going to hold my breath for that. The only way to make an impact that other well knows scholars, and influencial Sheiks, mufti, to issue some thing similar opinions

  • A non-sequitur

  • and still are

  • APOLOISGIST sour grapes. Too little much too late. The jinni is out of the bottle. Now many Islamic peoples will suffer the wrath of those who have been targeted and killed by jihad. Many innocent Islamic people must die now because of misguided jihad by your "leaders".

    Tough darts, dudes.

  • they became rulers, generals, travelers, thinkers, etc. read some history you numbnut. Slavery in the Muslim world was not like in the West, it was a tribal system, wrong nonetheless, but they were in most cases freed and allowed to marry arabs and become leaders in various fields. and it had nothing to do with race, their were slaves from everywhere, including other arabs.

  • hmmm sounds like the jihad isn't going so well
