How To Remove An External Fixator Like A Boss

The fixator was installed on August 16th and removed on November 10th. I opted out of surgery. Like a boss.

Notice how Dr. Buchanan pulled a sweet psychology move. He left the drill out of the room until it was needed. When he came back into the room with the drill, he wasted no time and headed straight for the first pin.

@Taureg96 i tried to argue for not going under for the removal of my third one i've got on now and lost that argument. however, i did convince him to let me take a video on a tripod, so you should see that after nov. 3rd

I finally got the entire fixator off of my leg 3 weeks ago or so. 7 surgeries since I got it done back in June of '11 and it's off, but he decided to cut bone outa my foot to straighten my foot. now I got 6 pins in my foot and a plate in my leg to support my shin bone cuz for some reason it's not completely healed from the leg lengthening I had. had 32 staples pulled outa my leg a week ago, just need either the stitching out, or the plate, or both, and the odd 6 pins holding my foot straight.

Just imagine instead of pulling them out, he pushed them in more, just kidding haha.

How did you break your leg? I broke my tib fib back in july, compound fracture, had surgery and a rod put in, and now im back to normal as fast as that may seem. I read up on tib fractures and there actually is a huge debate about exter fixation vs rodding and internal fixation.

I thought that getting my staples removed was funny to see, but after seeing this, i realise i had it easy!
