  • @thisb3jayjay Not really new research, the Pena account of the surrender has been well known for quite awhile now, Gen Castrillion was the one who interceded with Santa Anna to spare the survivors who according to all sources were killed and died without humiliating themselves. Wheither Crockett was among those men is another question being that Susana Dickenson saw Crockett's body among the other Tennesian Alamo defenders as did Antonio Jose Ruiz who identified the bodies of Crockett & Travis.

  • @thisb3jayjay , well thank you , you just copper fastened my point , i am so glad you agree with me , stay well

  • @franreilley Then I guess the same could be said for the 13 colonies. Apparently America isn't a country then because the British never paid "full price" to the Natives who had it before right? Well, then... franreilley has just stated that the United States of America is a false country, a country that isn't a country at all. Shame such a fictitious government is beguiling our tax money! Shall we call for a revolution? Maybe we can create an Alamo of our own.

  • @thisb3jayjay , how did it ''belong '' to spain , did they pay full price to the natives for it , the land has been lost and stolen in wars for centuries but you only condemn the war that was won by the states , if mexico controlled the 4 southern states the illegals would just have a bigger trek north , through more sand ,

  • The Davy Crockett Myth: New research indicates Davy Crockett and some of the other defenders may not have died as heroically as Hollywood legend has suggested in countless films. Instead, they may have surrendered and begged for mercy, which Santa Ana did not grant: execution. Famous opponents of the Mexican War: John C. Calhoun, young Mr. Lincoln, Henry David Thoreau, William Lloyd Garrison, and Frederick Douglass, claiming it an unjust, selfish, disgraceful, cruel, iniquitous, and immoral war.

  • @crazitaco No, he's actually wrong. And the U.S., to not look like a huge douchebag to the world, paid 48 cents per square mile of land. They paid $240,000 and doubled the size of the entire country. That is a total rip off, and rip off's can be included under "theft."

  • @franreilley You are retarded and ignorant. That territory belonged to Spain. After Mexico won its independence from Spain, they acquired all that land legally. The U.S. sent patrols deep into Mexican territory and were understandably shot at by the Mexican army. President Polk told Congress American blood had been spilt on American soil (which is ridiculous) and Congress waged war. Know your history before you embarrass the U.S. with your ignorance and uneducated rants.

  • The reason the Texans fought was because Santa Anna abolished the constitution and made himself dictator.

Only about 20% of Texas were even slave owners. Get your facts straight.
