Highway Heroes, is a series of short films about some unique Western Star operators from around the country who have more than a few things in common.

For starters, they are fiercely proud of their Western Star trucks, secondly their operations are among some of the harshest in the land.

Thirdly, and arguably most important is the fact that these Western Stars do their jobs day in day out.

We climb onboard with Samjack driver Ryan Lette, in his 4800 Western Star as he heads up the dusty track to collect a load of logs from the picturesque and rugged Northeast Tasmanian forest.

We join Ashley Johnson, from Johnson Brothers Transport and his 6900 Western Star Constellation hauling a triple roadtrain on a run to pickup six decks of cattle In the heart of rugged Central Western Queensland.

Heading up the Lynd in northern Australia has for a long time been a treacherous ordeal along a narrow pot holed track. We join Allister Roberts in his 6900 Western Star, which Is one truck that's stood the test of time on this run.

We join Lester Townsend and his 4900 Western Star Constellation on his regular run into the Deep South of Tasmania to collect a load of logs.

We head into Queensland's Wild West with long time roadtrain operator Mick Lenton to deliver a triple roadtrain of cattle feed to the historic Dalgonally Station.
