Vote Ron Paul 2012, the only candidate that will protect freedoms in all realms.

I smell a rat when it's always the dems who support net neutrality. just like pbs and education, they want to make sure liberalism is pushed forward.

Many malinformed people will believe that net neutrality is unnessesary, such as the creator of this video.

@jlakely1 nice, i wasnt argueing that. i was just giving an example on how this vid is a little biased. i dont give a dam wether they regulate search engines or websites, so just replace 'search engines' with youtube. there you go

@khabalox The monopolies you mention are anything but natural. They involved state participation from beginning to end.
Although your points can be backed up, they felt like they were taken out of context. Like when he said that website restricting your freedoms unless your wealthy is bad, he never said it would be done to evrey single site that makes you pay. He most likely implied that common ones like search engines would have to at least have a free version, not that buinesses would be shut down.

@T15Medic Why should government mandate free search engines? If Google started charging for search, people would immediately use other options (Bing, Yahoo, etc.), and Google would lose its dominant position. It's such a stupid idea (search engines make their money because it's free to use, but not free to advertise), it would likely never happen.

There are a lot of very good reasons to allow network administrators (i.e. ISPs) to prioritize traffic - Quality of Service first and foremost (see wikipedia for what QoS means). However, I can't think of one good reason for an ISP to discriminate between traffic using the same protocol. Can Jim give one?

@khabalox They own the networks, which cost billions. They can do what they want. And if they abuse customers, those customers will leave and they will lose precious marketshare in a very expensive and competitive business.
