it's also about learning to be independent, we're supposed to be able to cook, sew, fix things, shop on our own because there can't be always someone to help you.... and this is also the point, a soldier should be an independent man and not relying on his mother, girlfriend or wife for necessary stuff

They've really been helping me, making the racks perfectly is one of the things I worry about most in boot camp, I heard the racks are what a lot of recruits get smoked the most over.
