What is "unequally yoked" What are the ramifications for the believer and non believer?

Every time I hear someone quote the unequally yoked thing it just makes my blood boil. It always gets quoted by self-righteous hatemongers who use it to "justify" their own need for creating division and sense of supremacy. If I had a dollar every time it got thrown in my face I'd be pretty rich.

how does one find* the sheep whom are lost, if one is unwilling to reach out to them? and others might say well she is hellbound (as they have of me), so wipe ye feet off & let her rott in hell, because why? because ye are holier than she ever was........well I wasnt Holy when JESUS saved me!! wasnt even close........so expecting others to ignore thoise who are where they once were, comes down to personal experience in many ways. If one is sinless then one cant express why Christ saved them.

@MystSilverDragon Sis that is exactly what I was saying. We MUST have relationships with the unsaved. How can they believe if they have not heard and how shall they hear if there is no preacher.  and I would add who wants to listen to a preacher tell you that you can never be saved because you are a reprobate?

Then there are rare cases like when my Dad went to Church just to see what my Mom was up to. That night he accepted the Lord as his savior and became a strong spiritual leader in our home. Now when they first met, neither one of them was serving the Lord so there is the difference. I guess every situation is different.

@pastorgeorgec I dig what you are saying, and I respect your opinion. I admit, in my younger years I wasnt very religious at all. Now in my 40's I am religious but I still have a problem putting Christ above / before my children. I guess it just depends on how you look at things. I do love Christ, and I am a Christian...maybe not as good of one as others are. But anyway, I do understand what you are saying.

@SabellaSummersRising Isn't it amusing how those who know absolutely nothing about something always come up with the most bizarre stories? I suppose it's the wannabee fringe "satanists" that spread all the gross rumours, and without investigating matters, people just grab the story and run with it. I know very little about satanism, and I intend to keep it that way!

@FoundThePeral In all the years I was a party to my familys past endevors in satanism I never saw anyone sacrifising children. I did however see a few animals killed especially black cats. Although there were a few bats as well, of course my grandmother kept bats for the longest time.

What you are saying seems to make sense to me. It would be like two of completely different philosophies attempting to create a union. Perhaps, even more so when it comes to religion because of the fact, as you mentioned, God is first above all things and your entire existence revolves around that. Seems logical to me. But then there's that human factor of opposites attracting.....

@pastorgeorgec On the 25th of December we have 3 Christmas parties for all our students. We have built up relationship with these students for almost a year now. Using these parties as an opportunity to share the gospel with them, of why Jesus was born and why He came to the earth. Praying that these seeds will ultimately lead to some salvations.
