Every strategy game I've ever played has let me down. I gave up on the genre after playing Halo Wars. I guess thats unfair to compare all strategy games to that one, but I'm just not a big fan of the genre.

yes, you can play skirmish with CPU or real players.

no tanks, planes, defensive structures? is there only infantry, thats pretty weak.

This is only second and third mission. In other missions you are able to use planes and other vehicles (tanks, buggies etc.). You can also install turrents and shields on captured buldings.
