I had just sent my son an e-mail telling him how I missed him, because I really didnt't have anyone to share things with. (He is a renounced monk, living in India with his guru and a few other devotees of Krishna - I was/am a methodist - don't ask!)

Thank you for mentioning the feeling of isolation which seekers experience. Just the fact that you said it makes me feel better because I know I am not the only one who feels alone. The truth is, though, that spiritual work is personal and an independent labor, hence isolation is a natural part of it, unfortunately. Best wishes in your pursuit.

@1971SuperLead Hook up a media center computer to it and watch YouTube videos and other online documentaries that will make your life better. It's fine to have some TV shows for entertainment, but I personally spend more time watching or listening to stuff like the video on this page on my 52" Samsung. It's like my consciousness control center! :)

People here are talking about the danger of comparing higher-consciousness people with lower-consciousness people, and I agree with that. I think when you follow a spiritual path, its nature is to first knock you down to size, kicking your legs out from under you and pointing out just how far you really have to go. That's humility. In some ways it makes you realize that you are even lower than the "lower-consciousness" people, who you can't really judge in the first place.
