From the DVD "The Knack On Stage At World Cafe Live" (2007) recorded Nov. 7th, 2005. From their debut album "Get The Knack", "(She's So) Selfish" was famous for Fieger singing "she don't give a sh-t about anybody else but herself" and for the F word used eight times in the middle of the song. It was mostly only played on FM radio at the time.

  • Maybe now "Get The Knack" will finally get the masterpiece of rock-pop recognition it has deserved all these years. It was THE album that put the final nail in the coffin of disco, and it sounds as fresh today as it did the day it came out. Those who only know "My Sharona" do not know what they missed. RIP Doug.

  • One of my college room mates played his "Get The Knack" album continuously for months in 1979. At first I didn't like it, but quickly learned how great it was. Those were the days! RIP Doug.

  • When I think "Best band" I say "The Knack". When I think "Best vocalist" I say "Doug Fieger" R.I.P., Doug [*]

  • Remember listening to them as a kid in the late 70's... This one was my favorite song other than My Sharona..

  • Awesome! RIP Doug.

  • This song is a bona fide power-pop CLASSIC. AWESOME.

  • Great song! Great performance!

And, to this day, I'm still amazed that they got away with singing these lyrics on Capitol Records in 1979.

    Gimme gimme gimme, WOOOOO!!!!
