sweet! I didn't know RayStorm came out for Saturn. I thought it was just Arcade and Playstation. Now if RayCrisis were released then we'd have all three on the same system. (Galactic Attack = RayForce, Layer Section II = RayStorm, and RayCrisis on Playstation is just RayCrisis.)

I don't think any shooters needed the Ram carts. To my knowledge those cartridges were only used by 2D fighter games and SNK ports like Metal Slug.

Do these SS shooters generally need the 4mb extra memory or are they ok running on a 'vanilla' Saturn?

I do not like the music either

This game is awesome but i don't like the music, i preffer Soukyugurentai music or M.U.S.H.A music. Thanks for post shoot'em up videos, these videos are helping me to decide wish Saturn games buy, in this momment i have 6 shoot'em up for SEGA Saturn:
1. Radiant Silvergun
2. Soukyugurentai
3. Dodonpachi
4. Darius gaiden
5. Layer Section
6. Layer Section II

I've heard a lot about how great the first one is, but after watching this video I can't help but feel that part II looks better. I should get this one soon, I still have the first one.

OKish port of a great game, but part one still beats this one.
I wonder why the port of the Saturn Version was handled over to Developer TOSE Software... and why they didn't simply port the 9 months older Playstation release(which is sadly superior imo with it's great "Neu Tanz Mix" of the soundtrack and the alternate playmode). Shows how devs and publishers care for the fans and customers... :/
Thanks for uploading those one. I always wondered how Layer Section 2 runs on the Saturn. Looks great. I really want to buy that some day.

It's really much better than people often say it is on the Saturn. It's really become one of my favorites of the 20 or so Saturn shooters I currently have. Thanks for commenting. Much appreciated.
