  • After Phase 2 of UPT you drop your track selection:

    T-38 (fighter/bomber)

    T-1 (Airlift/Tanker)

    C-12/T-44 (Turboprop)

    UH-1H (Helo)

You can request, but that doesn't mean you'll get it. After Phase 3 is complete you fill out a dreamsheet of preferences for your final flight system within that track and based on what is available, but ultimately your performance and the needs of the Air Force determine what you end up in.

  • @haggissmoker well thanks for your help man and gee i really dont wanna fly choppers but whatever then.

  • @airforcerotc305 In the RAF (I assume it's the same for most Air Forces) they have you fly all three categories: Multi-engine (C-17s etc.), Fixed Wing (Jets) or Helicopters. After you've finished training in all three, you give them your first, second and last choice of what you want so they can try to get you the role you want, but if they say you're flying helicopters, then youre flying helicopters unfortunately :).

  • @Ccrewchief17 Hey um i thinking about joining the force and flying one of these after rotc, do you have the right to pick the plane you want to fly or how does it work?

  • yep, tryed to be a fighter CF like my dad but got on the C-17 which aint bad a-10 is bad ass
