Use Me - Bernice Frazier

1988 Sutra Records. Bernice's 2nd record release--this time a cover by the legendary Bill Withers. Again, Bernice does backgrounds with a male artist we had in the Powertrack stable who went by the moniker, Charlz. This record saw the light of day because of my mentor, the late, great Chuck Dembrack. Chuck had a wonderful working relationship with Sutra's Art Kass--who was also a true gentleman of the game. My production was tight and sparse, relying on the power and snap of TR909 drums, a rolling Yamaha DX7 bassline, elegant signature vocals by Bernice, thought out engineering by Mike Costanzo, and of course..one of the best soul songs ever written by a songmaster, Mr. Bill Withers.
