I just bought my D3000 and wondering if im doing something wrong, the 18-55 lens that come with it hardly zooms, I can't even stand at my door and zoom to the pool, or lay on the couch and zoom right in on the person on the next couch, is this normal for this zoom? My cheap little camera zooms further so im guessing im doing something wrong?

DO NOT use this lens for sports. it sucks. Use this lens for only STILL pictures. not moving ones.

I recommend: AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II which cost $1k. Just fork out another $700 to get the most popular lens used by nikon users.
