  • Android is not linux. It has zero GNU method. It is made(converted) by proprietary company. It fails to implement GNU money model, and copies proprietary one. No wonder it is same as microcrap.

  • @lin545

Android is based on the Linux Kernel then Modified. It has some, but not all gnu tools. Google is not really a proprietary company compared to microshaft and apple, Google releases the source code to just about Everything... including Android.

Android uses the OSI compatible Apache Software License, but if is not in conflict with the OpenSource methodology

  • @Linux4UnMe Yep, all your points are valid(maybe with exception of source code - it is 60/40), but can you modify android code, compile it and upload it to your phone? How many blobs are there?

  • @lin545

as far as I know from reading the android FAQ's, Yes. You can. As far as blobs, I am not sure

  • Android store is more open to apps than Apple store is.

  • @PenguinTutorialsVids

correct. That is what I was trying to point out to him. lol

  • @Linux4UnMe

I agree with blackoutworm. You might also want to try bringing the mic closer to where you both are speaking. Cheers.

  • @blackoutworm

ahhhh. That would be Damien's Computer Fan that is overly loud. will make sure it's off next time. cheers

  • I wish you could turn off the noise in the background that makes it harder to hear what you are saying, but a great show as usual.
