That picture speaks a thousand words. As for how she sings this song.. well
am totally addicted. No detection of pretense whatsoever, Her craft is unmatched.

A true Frank Green story. He came over to Bessie's house with tears in his eyes, the chorus chord changes and the title. Bess, Frank and I sat down and collaborated, and the rest is history.
Thanks to producer "Clyde Otis" and the rhythm section of "Stuff", the old Saturday Night Live band, this song is still remembered.

Bessie Banks is absolutely unbelievable. Between this, 'Go Now,' 'Don't Worry Baby The Best Is Yet To Come' and 'It Sounds Like My Baby' I would be all set for 40 years on a desert island.

I've got a copy of this song on one of Dave Grodin's Deep Soul Treasures CD's. Wonderful mood music, if you EVER want to have a romantic interlude with someone, this is the song to play..........

WOW I had no idea this gal was alive until I saw a link to the song "Go Now"
I did at the time in the 60's divide my radio music between top 40 and R&B.
What a great artist, and wonderful music
Thanks for this
Darend! I never heard this song before in my life. Thanks so much for sharing it. It is so beautiful. Wonderful voice, great music arrangement, especially the soft guitar interludes ...

Totally agree with the above comments. Discovered this song through the brilliant series of comps by the much missed Dave Godin. This song is raw in sentiment and smooth in production, sober and strangely uplifting. Simply sublime and my all time favourite.
