This has been one of my favorites by Tex Jenks Carman since it first came out. I assume Tex Atchison is playing violin on this recording, as he is the song's composer. Atchison wrote some wonderful songs, and came up with an old-fashioned gem here which perfectly suited the style of his friend and fellow Kentuckian. Jenks Carman was one of the most charismatic audience-pleasers in California country music, and this is certainly among his best recordings. Many thanks for posting it here!
He was a regular on Town Hall Party. He played the guitar in a flat-top style, like Bashful Brother Oswald did.
