Airplane into Chicago and Blizzard

MD-80, Going to visit a friend flying American just before the fleet of MD-80s got grounded for wiring faults. Well this was the final flight for the captain as he was retiring. We were held up 10 hours but they let us board only to find the door wouldn't latch. So sat on the ground for two hours as they fixed it. This landing was greatly appreciated by many. Best wishes to the Captain, wish I could give him a copy. He landed this plane like a feather on a pillow. All things considered.

Workin the throttle as ou can hear....Reminds me of my visit to charleston SC. As we came in, it was all grassy for like a mile b4 the rw and we got lower and lower i figured we were landing in it.

Yea it was an ear full back there and I had the whole tail section to myself. It was very entertaining to the senses. Sounds like you had a long final approach I think they call it. Thank You for watching and comments.

Classic 80 flying! Awesome engine sound. Soft landing, although big no-no on a contaminated runway. Smooth is always good though, especially for your retirement landing. Great airplane. Thanks for posting this.

@KinetikPlayground Thank You for watching, and I hear ya about Midway and in a snow storm forget about it. At least landing approach is after the high altitude low pressure zone of death and powered up test for the engines on take off while hoping you miss the birds.
