  • With the new engine we get 14 mpg city, 22 mpg highway. Not bad for a tank.

  • It's got a Chevy 350 - 4L60 trans, Chevy 12 bolt rear end, dual exhaust, etc. Yes, I guess one could call it a hybrid. I had the damnedest time trying to find engine parts for the stock engine.

  • Wish I hadn't seen this video. Sounds like the boss' in town. Gonna make me wanna stick a bent 8 in there now. Nice ride, mate!

  • Damn what's the engine and setup ? 320ci or 263 ?

Whish my 263 could sound like that :)

  • Well this isn't a Buick of the 40's except in body only. If it had a '49 driveline the straight eight engine would be revving uselessly through the slushy Dynaflow transmission. This car has a V-8 and probably a Turbo-Hydramatic.

  • I am 63 years old and my Dad had one of these 49 Buicks. We had nine kids in our family and need a big car. In 1956 when I was nine, Dad traded it for a 1949 Hudson. Wish I had either one of those cars now.

  • goosebumps

  • @quakercityjohn I'm 56 also - as kid in the 60's (and very interested in cars), I always admired the Buicks of the 40s and early 50's. In the 60's, you'd still see the early 50's cars and some late 40's cars in regular use. The Buicks of that era were exceptional cars. The 48 Roadmaster is my favorite.

  • Bloody hell she sounds and looks great!!!

  • I can't believe no one has commented on this beauty. Thanks so very much for sharing. I'm 56 and in my childhood I remember these - even got to ride in the back seat of one once.
