I agree totaly with toolabre, every thethe song i like, has a meaning to me personally. Some sad some not so sad but very good all the same.

This song always reminds me of me and my old girlfriend around 1987 or so driving in the middle of the night around Burlington, VT on a cold winter's night with her sleeping in the passenger seat next to me with only the two of us in the car as I knew our relationship was ending without acknowledging it.

There is somthing amazingly personal about The The ... and I think that is where the commentary below is going. This is my all time favourite band, an 'evergreen' so to speak. I'm glad that I don't see kids going around with The The tee-shirts, or cover versions by students, etc.. Best band ever without a doubt ... but let's keep them to ourselves!
