  • LOL..........Yes the Melbourne Cavy Club it's definately not a club you would take your kids along to

  • Why Do people think its cruel?! It isnt they love it! Speaking from experince. I show and breed lotsof different breeds of Guinea pig and my love it!

  • The politics in Cavies hasn't changed, in fact it is worse in Melbourne. Those clubs have all vanished because of the nastiness that goes on and there is only 1 club now with about 10 members.

  • I used to show cavies in the 1970s in Melbourne, there were the Victorian, Dandenong, Southern, Eastern, and Maribyrnong Cavy Clubs. The politics was breathtaking. haha. I used to be a qualified judge too. Amazing how things change. I now live in highrise in Sydney. Was that a buff you were judging? Blessings FLETCHER

  • i recon, I breed my guinea pigs. I do not breed for profit or for fun , i mainly do it to keep my acressivly dominate boar happy! Also i show my adults as extra. I do not show the babies i breed, it is jst a little fun to compair nibbles to other piggies

  • I don't recall myself saying that I supported pet stores, OR saying that ALL breeders were irresponsible. I used the word 'usually'. It means most of the time, but not always.

  • im a breeder of two liters and even if i had a chance of showing i wouldnt

  • Do you know how much the rescue situation could be easedif people boycotted Pets At Home and their mass produced by the THOUSANDS guinea pigs? I breed nice healthy stock and will take them back and vet where they go to. I also show. These big stores churn them out for profit from squalid hellholes. Go attack the root of the problem, not the people who show and give a damn.

  • You guys need to take a breather on the whole anti showing deal and just stick to breeders...

  • i agree on joose201 and caccavies!

im cirtainly very careful and look after my pigs very well!
