I think any SUV could have done this trail with 4WD and a decent set of tires. That Wrangler's tires look really bald. I did a trail similar to this in my Land Rover Discovery II with only traction control and it had no issues.
Nice roof rack on the WJ Grand Cherokee.

Maybe if he had gone around to the right a little more he could have made it. But a stock YJ with bald street tires trying to offroad? That's just really stupid.

to get down floor it and pray

put a rock under that tire he might get up

I have done this trail a few dozen times, it is Spring Creek Trail in Colorado, starts near Idaho Springs and comes out in Georgetown. Nice trail; a Grand with only a 2" lift up that obstacle, and I am surprised that it made it at all.
25 years of 4x4ing; never attach a strap to a tow ball! Take out the hitch, put in the strap put the hitch pin through and that is FAR safer!
The E-brake makes a WONDERFUL foe locker, try pulling up on it when you are slipping, helps a lot!
Buy Chuck Well's book

Dude seriously i dont care how far you were trying to see were you could make it before you went out there you should of had off road tires instead of those fucking shit road ones and had a fucking lift kit dont be rocking that hi jack with no lift kit. your lucky you had other people there to pull your ass out if not you would of been shit out of luck stuck there.

Yes you have more car like tires because people wanted a softer ride, etc. But seriously those are car tires, haha.
He does not need lockers for something that easy. What he needs is new tires and a driver that can drive a manual.

Its actually not that easy. Go to the Trail from Dumont to Georgetown. Its a black diamond in the wheelin book.

How hard could it be you have stock grand cherokees on this trail with what looks like all season tires...And wrangler with bald all seasons...tires at full psi...and I bet every one of you still have the sway bars connected...Black Diamond must be a new mall rating .

Whatever man. we made it about 1/3 of the trail before we had to turn around. it was a tough trail, we hit it just to see how far we could go. the trail got so tough two XJ's with 5inch lift, with disconnects had trouble. hit the trail and tell me what you think.
