I was just wondering if you have problems with your display when it rains? I wrapped my plugs with electrical and duct tape to be extra sure it was water tight and still when it rained christmas eve my show would not run. Any suggestions on any additional precautions I could take?
ok 10000 lights per tree how many channels is that and how many amps per channel

@TheWackskater : 96 strands of 100 mini bulbs. Star up top contains 400 mini-bulbs (rope light later). Each 100 light strand is roughly 1/3 amp. Of the 96 strands, 48 are color and 48 are white. The white and color strands alternate around the tree. Two strands of same color per channel. 49 channels for entire tree (the star is its own channel). Roughly 35 amps per tree when fully lit. You can put more strands per channel to lessen the channels needed. For my tree, 2/3 amp per channel.

you must have some very understanding neighbors to have the whole street black so you can film this.

@GoddessOfWhim2003 : We do have understanding neighbors especially since it was a deadend road. But our road is a single road out in the countryside with lots of spaces between the houses. Nothing behind us except a downhill slope and cows. In fact, I set my camera up in the cow pasture across the road to get the whole thing on the screen. Every once in a while, you can see the very faint outline of a fence post off to the side.
