"Miss You" was a 1978 hit song by The Rolling Stones, from their album "Some Girls". "Miss You" was written by singer Mick Jagger jamming with keyboardist Billy Preston during rehearsals for the March 1977 El Mocambo club gigs which yielded Side Three of the "Love You Live" album. Guitarist Keith Richards is credited for co-writing. Unlike most of "Some Girls", "Miss You" features several studio musicians. In addition to Sugar Blue, who according to Ron Wood was found while busking on the streets of Paris, Ian McLagan played understated Wurlitzer electric piano, and Mel Collins provides the saxophone solo for the instrumental break. "Miss You" became The Rolling Stones' eighth number-one hit in the U.S. on its initial release in 1978. In 2010, Rolling Stone magazine rated "Miss You" number 498 in its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Considered a highlight of their output and the best of their post-"Exile On Main St." records, "Some Girls" revitalized the band's career upon its release and re-established The Rolling Stones as a vital rock and roll band in an era infused with punk rock and disco. It also became the band's biggest-selling album in the United States, with more than six million copies to date. "Some Girls" is ranked number 269 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. After gaining popularity in Europe, The Rolling Stones became successful in North America during the so-called British Invasion of the mid 1960s. They have released 24 studio albums in the United States, nine concert albums and numerous compilations. Their worldwide sales are estimated at more than 200 million albums. 1971's "Sticky Fingers" began a string of eight consecutive studio albums reaching number one in the United States, including "Some Girls". In 1989 The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 they ranked #4 in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked The Rolling Stones at number ten on The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists, and as the second most successful group in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
