Footbag Net. The world's most challenging ball game.

"This is incredible! I can't believe anyone can be so coordinated with their feet!" Pele, football legend

What is Footbag Net?
It's beach volley with your feet. It's setting, spiking, blocking and digging a tiny ball on a court with the same dimensions as a badminton court. It's fun, fast and difficult to master - and you are only allowed to use your feet!

Is it a real sport?
Yes. The International Footbag Players Association has more than 10,000 members. Every year, a large number of national and international tournaments are held all over the world, including European and World Championships. Once you have learned the basics, you can compete too! Less experienced players are welcome to take part in the intermediate divisions.

How do I start playing?
Practice just keeping the footbag in the air, either together with a friend or against a wall. Be sure to use both feet as you train your outside kicks, inside kicks and toe kicks. When you start to feel more confident, it's time to set up a net, join your local footbag club and learn all the fancy spikes!

What are the rules?
Footbag Net is a singles or doubles court game
where players use only their feet (below knee)
to kick the footbag over the net. The size of the
court and the height of the net are the same as
in badminton. Players are allowed three kicks
per side, and must alternate kicks (like in beach
volley). In singles, however, players are only
allowed two kicks per side.
Serving: Cross court from behind the base line.
Serve from the right side when the score is zero
or even, and from the left side when the score is
odd.
Scoring: Games are played to 15 points. Only
the serving team can score points.

  • I've never heard of takraw until I read the comments, so I went and looked it up. It looks really fun. I'm not going to say anymore because I've never played it. Regardless, it doesn't matter which sport is harder to play, just as long as you're having fun.

  • I play both sports and IMO, footbag is harder than takraw. 1) In footbag you can ONLY use your feet (no knee, chest , head) 2) In footbag you HAVE to alternate kicks btwn players 3) a footbag is smaller =harder to spike and dig. They are equally fun to play though. Footbag is much slower than Takraw, whose players are MUCH more developed spikers and jumpers. That is because Takraw has been played at a very high level for at least 20 or 30 years now, where as footbag is still a young sport.

  • lo mazimo :D

  • Quick question can you stall in this game? I assume not cause it would slow the pace but Jw

  • asians are just more athletic thus making takraw seem like the harder sport. i see nothing amazing about the kicks these white folks are doin. compared to the air the asians get with ther kicks is like nate robinson having a dunk contest with a 5'9 white guy. im hispanic and all i have to say is, give these asians a footbag for 1 hour and they will school these guys.

  • it seems that takraw would require more athletisism cause it is bigger and easier to hit. need to get higher to spike more dificult angles. footbag net would require far more percision and (while still acrobatic) less athetisism. Small ball is hard keep track of and hard to get a foot on it but a good spike seems undefendable. set up spike, point is yours. difficulty is =. +footbag used is rock hard and moves faster. don't say takraw ball hurts worse, try catching a stone with your face.

  • what's the song?

  • what's the song?

    tw,i really love this sport

  • Wtf is takraw?

  • Spiepszaj dziadu .. xD

  • ball is too small, takraw is more legit......is there a variant that uses head, legs, chest, AND hands?

  • @Gorind is really fun but it hurts a lot, specially if you play barefoot =D oh also the head after spiking but it is really fun =D
