Very true.

Well, I'd never have them if I didn't go get them out! I was using my legs to measure the snow, packing it a few times before stepping ahead into it so it wouldn't get my ankle and sock cold!

All that snow and ice and you still ventured out to get the snowshoes !!!! Your tea cups and saucers are winter flowers!!! That was quite a workout ~ were you using a walking stick to check the depth of the snow ????

...now i understand why it's better to have a woodburning oven..in case of power failure,it will keep you warm and also you can cook / warm water for bathing...do you have a well?...but it will be useless too bec the water will freeze...i guess u can melt some snow, and for drinking ,boil it, let cool, then pass it thru a Brita filter.

yes, we have a well but it only works with electricity to run the pump. The water in the well never freezes, it's a closed pipe 120 feet deep. we store water, gallon and quart jars of it. We also have a springfed drinkable stream as well as a spring from under a rock.

That is very pretty, however, I don't like the power being out..and..after a bit, I'm ready for the snow to go away! LOL

If you're outside, the power being out isn't a problem!
