Video shows some of the world's largest, most powerful, strongest, and rarest cats. Also shows cat stalking prey, killing, and eating it.

Although cats are top predators, they are the most delicate animals in the ecosystem. They become extinct the most quickly, because they live off the fat of the land.

The Amur (Panthera tigris altaica) also called the Siberian Tiger, shown here, is the world's largest cat. It has an average weight of around 500 lb for males, but can reach around 600-675 lb and possibly up to 845 lb. Probably less than 500 exist in the wild.

Nine subspecies of tiger exist, 3 of which are extinct. The Amur is the largest and now confined in the wild to an area in Siberia. They can be a long as a car, have huge dagar-like canine teeth, and thick fur of a golden hue. The white tiger can be very inbred.

The range of the lion (Panthera leo) once extended across Africa and into Asia. Many are critically endangered, as is the white lion. Males can weight up to 550 lb. and they are the second largest cat after the tiger. A critically endangered remnant population exists in northwest India. The lion was once the most widespread large land mammal other than humans.

The puma, jaguar, and bobcat are found in the Americas.

The pallas' cat (Otocolobus manul) lived in Central Asia. It has several odd features, including round eye pupils and unusually thick fur. Because it has a flat face, people once thought that it was the ancestor of the Persion cat.

All cats are carnivores. The domestic house cat shows the same traits as all other cats. Here one is shown stalking a much larger animal, which is somewhat cautious (whitetail deer).

They may eat their prey alive. In this case as is usual, the cat broke the prey's back. Thus, it can't escape or fight. Cats may be quite fastidious eaters. One cat here used to eat an entire mouse, but would very delicately surgically cut out the gall bladder and not eat it. It appeared that this mouse was pregnant and the cat did not eat the embryos. Perhaps they were unfamiliar to the cat.

A liter of 5 white tigers was recently born in Chile 09.12.28 (CD 10.01.09 A6 Litter of five white tigers born). Only around 200 such tigers exist.

  • @InLoveWithTheFletch eww i did too

  • @FenSk811 i think we should all stop and think about what really matters... who would win in a fight or how we can conserve both of them. it really doesn't matter who would win because both lion and tiger are in horrible shape in the wild. we shoud devote our energy into conserving them... not arguing over who is better

  • I like them they looked layed back my type of cats xD

  • @lataeyasmith A Tiger is shorter than a Lion, but the Tiger is bulkier and thicker set through out its whole body, more muscular and robust, I study these animals and let me tell you, A 1 v 1 fight the Tiger would win without a doubt, They are just stronger and can fight on their hind quarters. The Tiger attacks the jugular which is located on the side of the Lions neck and is unprotected by the mane in that region. Its a no brainer Tigers were also dominant in roman times.
