It is kind of a normal childhood (for the middle class), but considering the intense poverty of the majority of India's masses, it really ISN'T so normal! But maybe since the poor don't have a t.v., they are not watching anyway...
But it seems as though her mother made sure to not 'spoil' her...which is good!

@Kareena1988 Yes, she seems to have exploited her daughters well....Babita was actually poor and thats why karishma got into films really to support the family..since her parents were divorced...anyway...karishma's hubby is a playboy I believe..serves her right for going behind a married man..sridevi is another tamil brahmin whore that screwed boney's children's life...

i read something about her not playing a role in "Lajja" she didnt wnat to be a cow in the herd. (wth???) and also her sister Kareena wanted the role of Paro (Devdas) and that everybody can see: she came with her mother and her mother insisted that Kareena got the role. Thank God Sanjay leela bhansali thought otherwise.
