John now come on !Surely your not saying to give into your childs wants though are you ??.And are we really to be our childs friend or are we to be their parent?Children will see you as a friend and equal and not honor you as their Authority figure who loves and protects them and who are allowed to discipline them.Children are to obey their parents in the lord right?Ephesians ch 6.I loved your true faced book john but im not sure your advice is right here in this situation-my runaway daughter!
John please explain wooing. You sound a bit weak.A parent has rules because they love them and want to protect them. What is appealing to the flesh your talking about? the flesh needs to be put away and the lusts thereof-now isnt that loving your child?I saw your daughters post and noticed at the time of her trouble your wooing must not have worked--because it was only after she came out of her rebellious adolesence she relized she was wrong and you were right. Please explain??sincerley David
this was so inspiring. I think this would "resonate" with every parent. Something definitely to aspire to. I totally agree that behavior control is lowest form of parenting and that grace is the highest. Well done.
Dang, this is some crazy powerful stuff you are applying this whole "Living outta Grace" business to...Wow...what that would look like if it works. Hmmmm
"Standing with them to protect them instead of smothering to control them...it means not parenting out of fear but out of trust that God is totally at work in our child" Great line John and oh so needed in our children's lives
