EOS 500D aperture/closeup recording testing

Brand new camera, testing the default 18-55 IS lens on a surface lit by a few CCFL backlit LCDs and a 60watt incandescent lightbulb. I'm by no means any kind of expert in using videocameras, let alone zoom-lenses on DSLRs, I was simply mucking about with the thing checking out what it can do (and I can do with what it can do).

This camera in combination with an external digital recorder I'll eventually get will be used for future recordings I may/may not upload here.
