Kareena Kapoor speaks about her intimate scenes

Omar Qureshi speaks to Bollywoods most powerful actress about her most powerful role in Kurbaan. Directed by debutant director Rensil D'Silva (who co-wrote Rang De Basanti) "Kurbaan" (also spelt Qurbaan, Qurban or Kurban) is a romantic thriller set against the backdrop of terrorism. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Dia Mirza, Kirron Kher and Om Puri.

Love blossoms between a Delhi college professor, Avantika (Kareena) and her newly joined colleague, Ehsaan Khan (Saif). But as she receives a call to join back her University in New York, Ehsaan proposes marriage. While her father initially disapproves of the match because of Ehsaan being a Muslim, he finally gives his nod impressed by Ehsaans approach. The couple goes to New York and finds a house in an Indian neighbourhood. But soon Avantika realizes her own husband is a major part of the terrorist sleeper cell operating there and is the reason for an airplane blast that kills 140 people. She also comes to know that the terror outfits next plane is something as big as 9/11. How she unearths the plot with a journalist Riyaaz s (Vivek) aid and what it all leads forms the rest of the plot.


In this Encounter, Kareena Kapoor opens up to Omar Qureshi about the film, her career and impotantly her beau Saif Ali Khan. After hitching with Saif, Kareena has sobered down; he has also helped her broaden her thinking. For Kareena marriage is a social commitment and her career is the top most priority. No matter, if Saif Ali Khan was not in Kurbaan, Kareena would have gone ahead with the film and the love-making scene. But Saif would not have done the film if Bebo was not in it. The love making scene was a part of the script and it was done the way Rensil Dsilva visualized it. The biggest impact in Kurbaan was the last ten minutes. Kareena has acted in many films by Karan Johar and he has given her three important roles in her career. But her relationship with Karan goes beyond films. Karan has been a great support when she needed advice on family and personal matters. The couple in Kurbaan is an off screen couple but the love making scene is not meant to be masaledar. The movie is so strong that you get drawn to the character and forget about the stars. Spending time on the set was not really fun, as both of us were constantly working. The working conditions were below zero degrees.

Kareena Kapoor is a multitasking woman. Even though she has been busy with the promotion of Kurbaan and now 3 Idoits, she has still managed to take care of Saif. She loved working with Rensil as his approach to life is fresh and it shows in his cinematography which has come across in the film. Kareena dose not wish ill of anybody, as she strongly believes in Karma. The success she has earned is due to her karma, likewise the other stars. She tries not to have any negativity about others as what goes around comes around, even though there is a lot of rivalry in the industry. She does not believe that anybody is eating into her space, as her roles are very diverse. She has no problems with Katrina Kaif and finds her to be a wonderful girl. Kareena Kapoor has not watched Ranbir Kapoors films, in spite the fact that Ranbir has received a lot of accolades for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Wake Up Sid. Since Ranbir is her cousin it is unfortunate that she cannot act with him.

Now a days actresses are exploited and I don't know why these idiots accept to do these. Really talented directors won't use their actors work these way...Even if the story demands something there are millions of ways to portray that in front of viewers.. This happens only due to the inability of the directors or they just want the actors working these way...Totally bored seeing these kind of hell scenes in movies.. No films today can be seen with family except few which are quality wise ahead..

I have no idea what bollywood have idea about hollywood, many great award winning movies in hollywood don't even have such scene and when their is no need of such scene then they shouldn't do that, it was about guy who was terrorist and loyal toward his faith to such extend that he was ready to die and here he is doing something which is against his faith and movie's storyline. They just want to attract perverts to buy tickets I belive.
