  • Lol that's funny. I understand your skepticism. You can look me up here on youtube, I'm doing a rendition of Binary Finary. You want blues, just go to Ourstage and have a listen to Sister Sarah. Both by Rook Overman - me. While my first love is electronica (and that's what I do pretty much exclusively), I do play blues for these contests. BTW, I have won quite a few of them.

  • @djlivingfire lets see it big shot

  • well, whitford winning would have been a problem for gc, looking like playing favoritism. josh gooch who is incredible is related to derek trucks and susan tedesci. roosevelt played a pedal steel, hardly good for sales, and dan peters is a straigth rock player, behind the neck rocker stand guy. so kirby was it. that 2 slide trick is pretty unique.

  • @djlivingfire That story is extremely blues. you are the blues king.

  • seriously?! 20 bucks to see joe bonamassa :o

  • Dude that's a hell of a story and a huge bummer. I know you've got the blues! Regardless, I am the future King of the Blues and you are not (and maybe neither of us will be if GC doesn't host a truly fair competition going forward). I might bless you with a jam if you're dubbed worthy though...

  • I was planning on winning this year, but GC would not pay for my BUS TICKET to regionals. The reason I couldn't fly? My wallet was stolen on the two hour city bus ride out to the Ogden, Utah final, which I won. So I had no ID. GC didn't care, so I booked a Greyhound, which in turn was overbooked. I was two hours late (after a twelve hour bus ride, mind you) and never even got to be considered. Next year, watch out. I'm taking it.

  • ...just more to have the blues about I suppose. Thanks GC.

At least now I know Kirby will be busy spending his earnings and not competing anymore. Click.

  • I competed in the Districts against Kirby and here's my take on it. I think he is a VERY skilled SLIDE player but one of the more talented players in the competition should have won. Blues should not be limited to the slide sound. That's CRAP! Apparently the higher ups at GC had a pre-determined type of player they were looking for in this years compeition. I think everyone should also know that KIRBY IS A DALLAS LOCAL and competed in the SAME STORE with the SAME JUDGES all the way to NATIONALS.
