  • That's like the one I have. question: ever notice your's gulping air from up top?

  • I never notice them doing much when they get to this size. They just seem to hang about doing nothing in particular. They do like to munch on a bit of cucumber though.

  • Its amazing how many people are unaware about their size and are amazed by their pleco growing to be and aquatic version of godzilla.

  • All of the large plecs we have had in the shop have come from peoples tanks after they have outgrown them. We try to encourage people to have bristlenose, rusty plec or some of the fancy plecs instead as they don't grow as big and often specialise in eating algae. The common plec in the wild will spend its time munching on dead pigs on the bottom of the Amazon river so algae isn't high on its list of good foods when it is over a few inches long.

  • that is badass

  • They always look eeeeeviiillllll to me.

  • at 0:05 its so funny how he crawls! haha it's like a ninja

  • lol, I think this is my grandad's plec

  • Considering that they lurch about on the cloudy bottom of the amazon and eat dead bodies of fish and animals they were never going to win any beauty contests. The species from clearer tributaries are generally more appealing (and don't grow as big)

  • They look minging!
