I remember the old bridge that was in this same spot many years ago. A flood like this would have swallowed that older bridge. It was lower and much narrower if I remember right. Its been a long time. Decorah was really messed up by a flood in 1943. This flood was probably similar to that. The good folks in Decorah weren't whining and crying like the worthless 'people' in New Orleans.
