I love the original, and I love the newest version too. Most people do not like it because it doesn't stay true to the original, but I believed the message was put out there on film. I watched the whole movie, and I was so upset at what the Once-ler was doing, just as I was upset in the original. The added plots contributed, and I'm pretty sure the kids in the audience didn't mind. Some of them even left saying they wanted to plant a tree :)
