Too bad Dunedin residents don't use their winter tires, studded ones preferred.
During a northern hemisphere winter, I have to use studded winter tires as Western Newfoundland (Canadian Province) gets snow almost every day, and I often have to drive on snow covered and hilly roads. Without using them, I would be in a lot of accidents.
Perhaps winter tires should be mandatory in Southern New Zealand, even if their winters are warmer than most of Canada.
